WHO ARE WE

In 1965, a group of Rotarians, wishing to continue in fellowship after largely retiring from work, met in The Campus, Welwyn Garden City’s central square, and founded The Campus Club.

The idea was taken up a year later in Caterham Kent, England, but a more generic name was used - PROBUS. (PROfessional BUSiness) The first PROBUS club for seniors in North America was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Galt in Cambridge Ontario, Canada in 1987. There are now more than 250 Probus clubs in Canada and over 4000 world wide.

In PROBUS you’ll find a wealth of new experiences and a much expanded social network. The opportunities abound with awesome guest speakers, a broad range of interesting activities and social events, stimulating conversation and the chance to explore and share your community, Canada and the world with new friends. If you feel like your life could use some intelectual or social stimulation.
